Ambiguity

Love is but a word.
A word I never truly understood.

Always striking me off guard,
I drown into its whirlwind oceans,
as I struggle to keep my head up high.

The space in between the air and water seems immeasurable
as a symphony is orchestrated among the silent breeze.
I listen as the harmony glides drumming my ears,
collaborating itself with the rhythmic patterns of my heart.

I hesitate to move as I give in and float my way to the unknown
because I know the waves will carry me to your shores.

I know it’s been a long time ever since we have been together.
But is there an escape to what I am feeling now?

I think not.
